The issue of masturbation has consistently been one of the most discussed and most continues topics for us at The Marriage Bed. The subject is emotionally charged, with guilt, fear, distrust, shame, anger and other powerful emotions being a part of one’s thinking about the issue of masturbation. Add to this the historical “we don’t do that, and we don’t talk about it” attitude of many in the church, and you have a topic that comes with its own lightning rod.

The bottom line for us is that we can’t find any Scriptural basis for saying masturbation is inherently sinful, and being unwilling to be guilty of adding to God’s Word we take the stance that masturbation, in and of itself, is not sin.
